Meet Dr. Cespedes

My profession is very important to me; I love what I do! Every day at work is different and each patient’s treatment is unique. Therefore, they are all special to me. This patient-centered approach requires my biggest commitment and effort to be the best dentist I can be to treat them with all the respect they deserve. This is the foundation of my ethics as a professional. My biggest reward is reflected in their smiles and excitement when their treatment is done; when you know you have touched their life in a positive way.

As a prosthodontist, part of my training is in the field of TMJ and TMD treatment, and many of our patients present signs and symptoms of such a condition or disease. That’s why it was important to offer them a therapy to improve their situation. TruDenta® is able to solve a problem that had no solution before. Those patients with constant TMD and headaches that nobody wanted to treat, or could help them with, have hope now with this protocol. I am excited to be part of this state-of-the-art approach.

Education and continuing education

I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2006 from the University of Costa Rica, San Jose, Costa Rica. For three years, I worked in private practice as a general dentist, and also as faculty professor in the fixed and removable prosthodontics department at the University of Costa Rica.

In 2012, I completed a three-year postgraduate specialty program in advanced prosthodontics and my master’s in oral biology at Baylor College of Dentistry, Dallas, TX. My research focused on new technologies (CAD-CAM) to fabricate aesthetic all-ceramic crowns. I was awarded board certification from the American Board of Prosthodontics in 2013.

I currently teach in the department of restorative sciences at Baylor College of Dentistry where I supervise dental students in the removable prosthodontics clinic. I joined the McFadden Dental Implant Center in January of 2013 and perform a wide variety of dental treatments for adults with complex dental needs. My services include standard dental procedures such as fillings, whitening, and crowns, as well as specialty procedures such as bridges, veneers, partials, complete dentures, dental implants, and full-mouth reconstructions.

Outside the office

Originally from Costa Rica, I currently reside in Dallas with my husband, and we are expecting our first baby. We also have the most amazing dog: Her name is Sofia and she is a two-year-old mini Shih Tzu. Here in Dallas, my husband and I love going out to eat with friends, especially if it is a dog-friendly place! We also love to go to the beach, especially if it is in Costa Rica.
